RJJA Black Belt - Matt Jubera opened a new academy in Longmont, CO. The website is bjjdarkhorse.com. Congrats to Matt on yet another great accomplishment in his life!

The next big event is the Pan Ams in Cali; go to ibjjf.org for all the details.

Team Baddog ran its record to 44 and 3!! Jake Kraus improved to 5-1 by winning a unanimous decision on Jan 16th in Columbus, Ohio. It was a hard fight against a 5 -1 opponent. Jake's opponent before him was 8 -0 so he has been on a roll!

The next big event is March 12th at the Crown Plaza Hotel on summit in Toledo where Jake, Ray and Jay will be fighting for titles. You won't want to miss this one so go to baddogfc.com for tickets or training info!

Remember, a Black Belt is a White Belt who never quits!

January 30th - Sean "abdula" Bansfield will hold his annual tourney the Michigan Jiu-Jitsu Championships. It will be gi and no gi and have kids, teens and adults. Go to mbjjc.com for all the info.

All weigh-ins start at 9:00am and the gi divisions will be first with advanced beginning at 10:00am. The no gi will begin with the advance divisions beginning at 2:30pm.

The tourney will be NAGA style (with the cards turned in at the tables) and I will be helping run the event. There will be four rings and if you would like to help ref, please let me know. I hope to have all brown belts and above ref and two for each ring for breaks and coaching.

You can save $20.00 by pre-registering. The cost is $60.00 for one event and $80.00 for two. It will cost you $80.00 and $100.00 at the venue.

Also, everyone can weigh in without the gi - even if you are only competing in the gi event (the weights will be as if you had the gi on from the ibjjf.org weights).

For those of us who are planning on going to the Pan Ams on April 8th in Cali, it would be smart to compete as much as you can. We have the Michigan JJ Championships January 30th and the On the Mat Arnolds March 4th - 7th. See you there!
